Phil Burke - Founder
Phil Burke founded BurkeBuilt Motorsports in 2004 and has been involved in motorsports his whole life. Having grown up the son of successful business owner, drag racer, custom car builder, machinist and fabricator; Phil began “building things” very early in life. Deciding in grade school to be an engineer, the balance of Phil's education, including his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo , shaped his abilities.
Moving immediately into product development straight out of college, Phil began working with Devices for Vascular Intervention (DVI) then Advanced Cardiovascular Systems (ACS) and finally Guidant Corporation. Armed with valuable experience gained in product development programs Phil ran for these “Fortune 500” corporations, Phil combined his product development professional skill set with his personal interests in the Motorsports world and started BurkeBuilt Motorsports. Hundred's of successful product development programs later, BurkeBuilt Motorsports continues to provide start to finish product development and custom vehicle design, prototype, development, and manufacturing for it's ever growing client base.
Phil's mechanical engineering degree and experience has led to high proficiency in all aspects of the Product Development Cycle. Phil leads BurkeBuilt's team supporting its clients in the following areas: idea creation, conceptual development, project planning, product and process research and development, manufacturing support and engineering, high volume production line set up and optimization, facility design and lay-out, production control, lean manufacturing, world wide production ramp up, product release, and customer field support.
